Yudo Hot Runner India has expanded its manufacturing footprint with a new 40,000 sq ft facility in Vasai, Maharashtra, more than doubling its domestic production capacity and strengthening India’s position in advanced plastics manufacturing.

Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt. Ltd. has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Vasai, near Mumbai, dedicated exclusively to hot runner systems for the injection moulding industry. The new plant increases Yudo India’s production capacity from approximately 180–190 systems per month to nearly 400 systems, marking a significant step in the company’s strategy to meet rising domestic demand.

The facility follows Yudo’s “global technology, local manufacturing” approach, bringing engineering, research and development, simulation, manufacturing, assembly and testing together under one roof. The Vasai facility is also one of Yudo’s nine global R&D centres, strengthening India’s role within the company’s international network of 24 plants spanning more than 45 countries.

Hot runner systems are critical components in injection moulding, enabling efficient and precise production of plastic components across a wide range of industries. In India, Yudo serves multiple sectors, with automotive representing its largest market, followed by packaging, medical and PVC applications. The company commands close to 70% of the automotive hot runner segment, reinforcing its strong position in the Indian market.

The expanded manufacturing capacity is expected to help Indian customers access faster delivery timelines, localised engineering assistance and globally benchmarked quality. By producing a larger share of its systems domestically, Yudo aims to create a more responsive supply chain while strengthening its in-country R&D and testing capabilities.

“This facility strengthens our ability to serve the domestic market while reinforcing India’s role in Yudo’s global network,” said Vishal Agarwal, President, Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt. Ltd. With more than 25 years of experience in India, Yudo has established itself as one of the country’s longest-operating specialists in hot runner technology.

The new facility also reflects Yudo’s focus on inclusive and sustainable manufacturing. Currently employing around 100 people, the plant is expected to reach 125 employees within six months. The company is targeting 50% female participation on the shopfloor and plans to support this goal through structured CNC training programmes.

Sustainability has been integrated into the plant’s design. Rooftop solar panels generate renewable energy, while rainwater harvesting reduces dependence on local water resources. Heat-resistant building film helps lower cooling requirements, while a solar daylighting system provides natural illumination across the shopfloor during the day.

With this investment, Yudo India is positioning the Vasai facility as a key manufacturing and technology hub for its growing Indian operations. The expansion supports the broader “Make in India” vision by combining global hot runner expertise with local engineering, manufacturing and innovation capabilities.
