Second mass-market electric SUV combines segment-leading range, performance, charging technology and ownership benefits
NEW DELHI, July 15, 2026: Kia India has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the unveiling of the Syros EV, its second mass-market electric vehicle for the Indian market. Designed to address some of the biggest concerns surrounding EV ownership, the new electric SUV combines a claimed segment-best ARAI-certified range of 526 km with advanced technology, fast charging, comprehensive safety features and a customer-focused ownership package.
Pre-bookings for the Syros EV have opened at ₹25,000 through Kia India’s website and dealerships across the country. With its launch, Kia is positioning the Syros EV as a practical and technology-rich electric SUV aimed at making the transition to electric mobility more accessible for Indian consumers.
Crossing the 500 km Range Milestone
One of the biggest highlights of the Syros EV is its claimed 526 km ARAI-certified MIDC Full range with the 51.4 kWh Extended Range battery. According to Kia, this makes it the first vehicle in its segment to cross the 500 km mark. A second 42 kWh battery option offers an ARAI-certified range of 443 km.
Performance is another key aspect of the new electric SUV. The Syros EV delivers a segment-best 171 PS of power and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 8.1 seconds with the 51.4 kWh battery pack. Its IP67-certified battery uses a liquid-cooled thermal management system, designed to support performance across India’s varied weather conditions.
The vehicle also supports DC fast charging, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes using a 100 kW charger. Battery conditioning technology further helps optimise battery temperature for faster DC charging.
Tackling EV Ownership Concerns
Beyond range and performance, Kia has focused heavily on ownership confidence. The Syros EV comes with a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty, subject to applicable terms, along with an Assured Buyback programme and Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing.
These initiatives are designed to address three common concerns among prospective EV buyers: battery longevity, resale value and upfront acquisition cost. By combining these programmes, Kia aims to make EV ownership more predictable and financially accessible for a wider range of customers.
A Charging Ecosystem Built Around Convenience
Charging accessibility is another important part of Kia’s electric mobility strategy. The Syros EV is supported by K-Charge, Kia India’s charging ecosystem integrated into the MyKia app.
K-Charge brings together more than 20,300 charging points across 23 leading Charge Point Operators, allowing users to locate charging stations, plan routes and make payments through a single wallet. Kia also has more than 129 dealerships equipped with high-capacity DC fast chargers and over 275 EV-ready workshops, providing charging and service support across the country.
Technology Meets Everyday Comfort
Inside the cabin, the Syros EV introduces a first-in-segment 76.20 cm (30-inch) Trinity Panoramic Display Panel, combining the digital instrument cluster, navigation touchscreen and climate-control interface.
The technology package also includes Kia Connect 2.0 with more than 95 features, OTA software updates, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Harman Kardon eight-speaker sound system and wireless smartphone charging.
Practicality remains central to the SUV’s interior. Sliding and reclining 60:40 split rear seats, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, multiple USB-C charging ports and a 16-litre front trunk add to its everyday usability.
Safety at the Forefront
The Syros EV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, offering 16 autonomous functions. These include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist and Driver Attention Warning.
The SUV also features a 360-degree camera, Blind View Monitor, parking sensors and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist. Kia’s package of 25 standard Hi-Safety features includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill-start Assist, tyre-pressure monitoring and ISOFIX child anchorages.

Available in seven trims across two battery options, the Syros EV gives buyers multiple configurations to choose from.
