The journey of Chetan Bearings began in 1977 with the establishment of Chetankumar & Brothers. Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Yogesh Shah, the organization entered the bearing business with a clear and focused strategy—importing, stocking, and distributing high-quality bearings across India. As early as 1978, the firm introduced reputed international brands such as Nachi and IJK to the Indian market, setting the foundation for long-term growth. The company also served as indenters for Nachi until 1985, after which it launched Jay Bearings, marking an important phase of portfolio expansion.
A major milestone in CBPL’s evolution was the early adoption and systematic development of INA bearings. Added to the company’s portfolio in 1990, INA quickly became a cornerstone of the business. CBPL was among the first distrubtors afterin a open their office in India and played a pivotal role in establishing the brand across Pan-India industrial markets. Over the years, the company has developed deep application knowledge, robust inventory capabilities, and one of the strongest supply networks for INA products, positioning itself as a lead stocking distributor.
In 1995, the business was restructured and formally incorporated as Chetan Bearings Pvt. Ltd. Guided by ethical business practices and long-standing customer relationships, CBPL expanded multifold, catering to a wide range of industries and applications across India. Its reputation has been built on consistent product availability, technical reliability, and a customer-first approach.
Today, CBPL is a leading authorized distributor for Schaeffler India Ltd. (FAG & INA) and Kinex. With strong operational bases in Pune and Mumbai, the company serves a diverse customer base nationwide. A well-established OEM/MRO customer presence in Pune for Schaeffler products, combined with strong stocking strength and technical expertise, enables CBPL to deliver dependable supply solutions to critical industrial sectors.
The company’s leadership was further strengthened with the induction of the second generation. Mr. Saurabh Shah, MBA (Finance), joined the organization in 2013 and currently leads the trading arm as Chief Executive Officer. His structured, growth-oriented approach has added strategic depth while preserving the company’s core values.
Beyond business, Mr. Yogesh Shah has contributed significantly to industry development, serving as President of the All India Ball Bearing Merchants Association, Past Chairman of the Nagdevi Action Committee, and Vice-President of the Federation of Associations of Maharashtra reflecting CBPL’s commitment to the broader industrial ecosystem.
