Automechanika Frankfurt to Offer 13 Free Hands-On Trainings in Modern Collision Repair

Frankfurt am Main, Germany – August 6, 2026: Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 is set to strengthen its focus on practical automotive repair skills with an expanded programme of 13 free, hands-on training sessions covering almost the entire modern collision repair process. The event will take place from 8 to 12 September 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, with all training sessions held daily in Hall 11.0.

Organised in cooperation with leading automotive industry companies, the programme addresses the rapidly changing requirements facing collision repair professionals. Topics range from damage assessment, repair-cost calculation and electronic body measurement to metal and plastic repair, paintwork, vehicle glazing, ADAS calibration, high-voltage safety and AI-assisted robotic painting. Participants can attend the sessions free of charge and receive a certificate upon completion. Advance registration also provides free admission to Automechanika Frankfurt.

Training for the New Era of Vehicle Repair
The increasing complexity of modern vehicles is transforming traditional workshop practices. Digitalisation, advanced driver assistance systems, alternative powertrains and high-voltage technology are introducing new challenges that require technicians to develop broader technical expertise.

The programme begins with training focused on systematic damage assessment, digital cost calculation and electronic body measurement. DEKRA Automobil GmbH will demonstrate structured methods for documenting accident damage, while Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH will showcase digital repair-cost calculation using SilverDAT3. Car-O-Liner Deutschland GmbH will focus on electronic body measurement and its relationship with conventional straightening-bench repairs.

Specialist sessions will also address sustainable plastic bumper repair, large-area steel dent repair and combined joining techniques involving bonding, riveting and welding. These sessions are designed to help workshops improve repair efficiency while adapting to modern materials and processes.

ADAS, EV Safety and AI Take Centre Stage
Advanced vehicle technologies form another major part of the programme. Training on modern vehicle glazing will cover the complete process from damage assessment through windscreen replacement and ADAS calibration. Digital claims handling will also be explored as a way to accelerate estimates and invoicing while reducing errors.

ADAS calibration is another key focus, with Robert Bosch GmbH demonstrating procedures for vehicles equipped with Level 2+, Level 3 and higher automated-driving capabilities. Workshops will also learn about fault diagnosis through vehicle fault-code reading.

As electric and hybrid vehicles become increasingly common, high-voltage safety is receiving dedicated attention. The TAK Academy and Toyota Deutschland will address essential precautions for accident repairs involving high-voltage vehicles. Meanwhile, SEHON innovative Lackieranlagen GmbH will demonstrate how artificial intelligence and robotics can support automotive refinishing through AI-assisted robotic painting.

Supporting Professionals and Future Talent
The training programme combines one-hour introductory sessions with three-hour in-depth practical courses, offering flexibility for professionals with different levels of experience. Sessions will run concurrently in German and English throughout the exhibition.
A dedicated Vocational School Day on 10 September will give students an opportunity to explore different areas of collision repair and gain exposure to emerging technologies. The programme is aimed not only at mechanics but also at assessors, service advisers, engineers and the next generation of automotive professionals.
