HighTech4Mobility to Spotlight the Future of Connected and Software-Defined Vehicles at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026

Frankfurt am Main, 30 July 2026 As software becomes an increasingly decisive factor in automotive development, the mobility industry is entering a new era defined by connected vehicles, artificial intelligence and software-driven functionality. At Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, taking place from 8 to 12 September 2026, the new HighTech4Mobility format will bring these emerging technologies and their implications for the automotive aftermarket into sharp focus.

Hosted at Frankfurt’s iconic Festhalle, HighTech4Mobility will provide a dedicated platform for OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, software companies, start-ups, investors, workshops, retailers and other industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge and explore new business opportunities. The programme will examine how software-defined vehicles (SDVs), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving, cybersecurity, data management, energy management and digital services are reshaping mobility.

For the automotive aftermarket in particular, the transformation presents both challenges and opportunities. As vehicles increasingly rely on software, connected systems and over-the-air updates, traditional maintenance and repair processes are evolving. Vehicle data is also emerging as a valuable asset, potentially creating new aftersales services and business models. HighTech4Mobility will address critical questions surrounding these changes, including the future role of artificial intelligence, digital services and data-driven maintenance.

Olaf Mußhoff, Director of Automechanika Frankfurt, highlighted the importance of understanding technological developments at an early stage. According to him, the rapid pace of innovation makes it essential for industry participants to recognise new technologies, exchange experiences and evaluate their commercial potential.

The event’s specialist programme will feature insights from leading technology and industry organisations. In collaboration with the IBM Institute for Business Value, Automechanika will present findings from the AI in Motion – Reinventing Automotive Aftersales study, exploring how artificial intelligence could transform automotive aftersales. Google Cloud and the Boston Consulting Group will also examine how AI can unlock new value across the aftermarket.

Other sessions will focus on robotics, autonomous driving, cybersecurity and software-defined vehicles. Benteler Mobility will share perspectives on robotics and autonomous technologies, while Bitkom, Germany’s digital association, will explore cybersecurity challenges linked to software-driven vehicles. The EU Data Act will also feature prominently, reflecting the growing importance of vehicle data and digital access within the automotive ecosystem.

Adding a practical dimension, the Technical University of Braunschweig will allow visitors to experience vehicle monitoring software through two demonstration vehicles during the exhibition. Keynotes and panel discussions will further encourage dialogue between technology experts and automotive professionals.

HighTech4Mobility is also the latest step in Automechanika Frankfurt’s year-round effort to connect the global automotive community around future technologies. Building on international receptions, innovation talks and specialist webinars, the initiative aims to ensure that the conversation around mobility continues beyond the exhibition floor.

With software, connectivity and AI rapidly redefining the vehicle, HighTech4Mobility at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 is set to become an important meeting point for understanding and shaping the next generation of automotive mobility.
