Hyderabad, July 23, 2026: Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has announced an investment of more than ₹600 crore to establish a 50-acre integrated nickel-based superalloy manufacturing facility in Telangana. The announcement was made at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening India’s strategic materials ecosystem for aerospace, defence and other high-performance industries.

The new facility is planned as one of India’s few integrated manufacturing plants dedicated to high-quality nickel-based superalloys. It will bring several advanced processes under one roof, including vacuum melting, forging, heat treatment, vacuum casting, powder metallurgy and specialised forming technologies.

With an expected annual production capacity of approximately 5,000 tonnes, the facility will manufacture a broad portfolio of products, including round bars, wires, forgings, castings, tungsten carbide powders and other specialised materials. Commercial production is targeted to begin in January 2028.

Strategic Push for Indigenous Superalloys
Nickel-based superalloys are essential materials for applications that operate under extreme temperatures, pressure and demanding performance conditions. They are widely used in aero engines, space systems, defence platforms, gas turbines, nuclear energy, oil and gas, medical implants and emerging hydrogen technologies.

India currently relies significantly on imports to meet its nickel alloy requirements. The proposed Telangana facility is therefore expected to play an important role in reducing import dependence while providing domestic aerospace and defence manufacturers with access to globally competitive superalloys.
The project will be led by Dr. S.K. Jha, former Chairman and Managing Director of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani). With decades of experience in strategic metals and advanced materials, Dr. Jha will guide the development of the new manufacturing ecosystem and its qualification for demanding aerospace and defence applications.

Building a Vertically Integrated Aerospace Ecosystem
For Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group, the investment represents a major move towards vertical integration. By developing an in-house source of critical raw materials, the Group aims to strengthen its own aerospace, defence and energy manufacturing operations while supporting the broader Indian supply chain.
The company has already received customer support for the product and process qualification activities required ahead of commercial production.
The facility launch was marked at Farnborough in the presence of senior industry leaders, including Sri Ravi Kota, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL); Dr. S. Dwarakanath, Director General of Aerospace India Association; Vamsi Vikas Ganesula, Managing Director of Raghu Vamsi Group; Siva Arvinth, CEO; and Shaun Newby, UK Head.

Expanding India’s Global Manufacturing Footprint
Founded in Hyderabad, Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has grown into a global precision manufacturing and deep-tech organisation serving aerospace, defence and energy markets. With more than 1,200 employees and operations across India, the UK and the USA, the Group supplies complex aero-engine components and sub-assemblies to global OEMs including GE Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, Safran and Collins Aerospace.

The new superalloy facility is positioned to complement these capabilities and further establish the Group as an integrated player in advanced aerospace manufacturing. More broadly, the investment reflects India’s growing push to develop indigenous capabilities in critical materials and build a resilient, globally competitive aerospace and defence supply chain.
